Manatee Memorial Hospital recently hosted one of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce's Coffee Club meetings in the new Manatee Heart and Vascular Center. Attendees toured the center and enjoyed a continental breakfast prepared by the Food and Nutrition staff from the hospital's café, Second Street Bistro. Among those who enjoyed the morning's activities, from left to right are Mark Goodson, Vice Chairman of the MMH Foundation; Bob Bartz, Manatee County Chamber of Commerce President; Chris Pennewill, 2010 Chairman of the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce and Kevin DiLallo, Group Vice President, Universal Health Services, Inc. and CEO, Manatee Healthcare System.

The Manatee Memorial Hospital 2010-2011 United Way Campaign was recently held at Manatee Memorial. Joining the hospital's team at the kick-off event were Jerry Koontz, President, and Tara Donovan, Director of Resource Development from United Way of Manatee County, Inc. The Manatee Memorial Hospital 2010-2011 United Way Campaign was recently held at Manatee Memorial. The Junior League of Manatee County recently presented the Family BirthPlace, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Mother-Baby Unit at Manatee Memorial Hospital with 20 very comfortable rockerglider chairs and 100 baby blankets. These special rockers, called 'Kangaroo Chairs,' will be used by new mothers and other family members to enhance infant bonding by holding the newborns for longer periods of time. Several Junior League and staff members gathered together in the lobby for the presentation.
