Family Physician Offers a Holistic Approach to Care

Catherine Cooper, DO, is not only a female family physician practicing at Manatee Memorial Hospital, she is generally the first person her patients call when they need medical attention or advice. As a family physician at Cooper Family Medical in Bradenton, she treats everything from kids' scrapes and sniffles to their parents' and grandparents' chronic conditions, like diabetes and high blood pressure.

"I love caring for entire families," Dr. Cooper says. "It really helps me build trust with patients when I know and understand not only their own health history, but also something about their family life and how that affects their mental and physical well-being."

The survey results are good news for the community because they show that patients can be confident that they'll receive high-quality and safe care at the Center.

  There's a Doctor
in the House

Thanks to an important new program, many patients hospitalized at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) receive care from a relatively new type of physician specialist, called a hospitalist.
